Hello my fellow Knotters,
When I’m working on Alpha patterns I count the boxes to ensure it corresponds to the number of strings. It never fails that I’m either off by 1-2 strings or over. Has this happened to anyone else?

The pattern also adds the leading string to the string count, so if there are 20 base strings then the pattern will say there are 21 strings overall

I also recommend looking at the dimensions of the pattern. For example if a pattern has the dimensions 10 x 20 it has 10 base strings and 20 rows. You could of course also do it the other way around. 😄
