Hello!I just had a quick question about pattern regulations! So I am planning on making a pattern with a quote on it, but I don't want to make it a simple text pattern, as it says those will be declined in the review guidelines. I was wondering if anyone had any strategies for making a pattern more than a simple text pattern, like if I should change the font of add a background or image or something like that. If anyone has any advice that would be great, thank you! : ) |

If u add like some sort of design to it like say you were writing just a quote u could add like a picture of a book or a journal or whatever your quote is about then it should get accepted

There are some alphabet patterns. Maybe if you create your text with these letters instead of the text generator? An example would be that 'sour' bracelet that shows up every now and then in the photos.

@5torr a pattern will still count as a simple word pattern if it is made from a simple font no matter if that font is from the generator or from another pattern. If there isn't already a font pattern for that specific font, we highly encourage the user to make one instead of making a specific word or quote. Now on how to make a word pattern not a simple word pattern: you need to have decoration that is both unique and complex. You can ask yourself: would this decoration be accepted on its own? If yes, you are good to go. If no, then you need to come up with something else. Another way is to make the letters complex for example when they overlap or interlock. |

@halokiwi Like the sour pattern (#92269) that I mentioned as an example?

@5torr yes, this pattern has unique decoration and the letters are kind of complex. In addition to that you could also argue that "sour" in this font is a logo and we always accept simple word patterns if they are logos.

But a word pattern is not automatically acceptable just because the font is not one of the preset fonts 🙂 @5torr

Okay, I had no clue that this 'sour' is a logo. 😲 Anyway, thanks for clarification, @halokiwi
