Can you make a shaped alpha with an odd number of strings? If so how?

I’ve never personally tried a shaped alpha, but here’s a tutorial that shows how to do it with an odd number of strings https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/130_shaped-keychain-tutorial/ (she shows how to do it near the end/with the the second keychain)

Yes, you definitely can! There should be no difference to making one where the amount of base strings is even. Each edge still gets shaped the same way independent from any other edge you are shaping.

You can make one of the base strings the color of your background color. Then use one of those for your background color. That’s what I use and I think there is an example on one of my photos. Ive never name a shaped alpha so I’m not 100% sure it’ll work the same.
