I don't really know if this is caused because of my knot tightness but when I'm finished with a bracelet there are so many holes or gaps in my bracelet. Should I make my knots tighter or do something else?

Try practicing segment knotting with patterns with basic shapes like diamonds and chevrons, then work your way up to harder patterns. Segment knotting definitely makes a difference in how your bracelet looks and I’ve found that the bracelets I knotted row by row have a lot more holes than bracelets I segment knotted

Another thing to keep in mind is to keep all your knots at the same tightness. If you started your bracelet with tight knots and they became looser toward the middle and tighter back at the bottom, there will be lots of gaps and your edges would probably be really bumpy. Something else to take into consideration is the thickness of your string. If you use multiple brands of string in one bracelet make sure they are all the same thickness to be sure they create the same sized knots. Hope this helps!

since I see that you have not segment knotted yet then I recommend that. Because if you do your bracelets row by row then there are bound to be holes because that is just what happens when you knot row by row. I suggest that you learn how to segmetn knot on Youtube. Segment knotting wlil probably take care of some of those holes. My tips for segment knotting are trying to follow patterns in chevrons and candystripes because that makes it easier to segment knot in the beginning. I hope this has helped you with your bracelet making skills! Happy knotting! -@stewon6969 |
