Start your favorite pattern, or an older one that you noticed you really enjoyed! I find that almost always helps me. You could even be in a bracelet slump. Try out a different craft if no pattern helps, and give friendship bracelets a break. A good week off helps me a lot as well.

I pretty much do what @oceanknot and @madeleine_ mentioned; limit the number of WIPs I allow myself to have at one go and set deadlines for myself.. I set that limit to about 1 alpha and 1 to 2 normals at a time.

If it works better for you to be accountable to someone else, tell a friend to check in on you—or better yet, make it a tandem thing and knot the same pattern together with a friend!

Alternatively, you could consider if the pattern(s) would suit a specific friend or family member, and work towards completing it for that person for a special occasion (like their birthday or even as a Christmas gift).

If the reason I haven't finished a project after a long time is because it's a big one that needs a lot of time to complete, I alternate between working on the big project and one or two other smaller patterns (read: simpler normal patterns/patterns with less string) which can be finished quicker, to give myself some happy boosts along the way (so I don't start feeling like I can't ever finish a project).

But if you really don't enjoy making a pattern you've already started, there is no shame in cutting yourself some slack and just giving it up. You don't have to throw the WIP away there and then; you can always put it in a 'maybe some day' box. If you prefer a clean end to this, you could always just end the bracelet/project where it is now and snip the remaining string away to reuse for some other alpha or rag-rug bracelet.

@049654 Ah hahaha, then you may need to set a limit on your 'maybe someday' box too.

i just make one at a time. personally i won’t be able to use it if it isn’t finished, and the reward of wearing your new bracelet that you made is really satisfying!

I always stay motivated by looking through instagram to get inspo! If i feel like I don’t know what pattern to look at, I will just scroll through all of my saved pics and check to see if there’s any that im interested in doing. If not ill check instagram and see if there’s new posts, whcih there always are. Also taking breaks help. Dont force urself to do it for the sake of doing it, but do it because u really want to do the pattern and do stuff that interests you! Good luck!!

i think if u participate in challenges you will be motivated to finish the bracelet that you started cuz u know the challenges have deadlines which make you wanna finish ur bracelet as fast as u can and for the unfinished ones just think about why u wanted to make them or just how cool they would look like when u finish them and i think that helps ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
