Hello! I want to make a handful of name bracelets for a goodbye present. I can't really measure wrists, unfortunately or ask them to tell me either. I think doing adjustable straps is the best idea, but how long do ya'll think the straps should be? One of the bracelets is for a boy too but the rest are for girls! I appreciate any help ya'll can give ❤️

I suggest just doing longer than u think u would need. U can always braid or twist the ends and make it adjustable.

im using row counts to do it correctly. I leave 10 cm of string while starting, or 20 knots if im making a loop. I prefer to use row count between 30- 32. I use 1 meters of string while making a a candystripe

Measure it around someone with a similar wrist size, make it adjustable and big enough that if it’s too big you can just take off some length. If two people that you’re making bracelets have similar wrists, remember to measure the length on the first one you make so you don’t have to worry about doing it twice.

Thank you all! These are all good tips/places to start! I don't have anyone in my virus group with a similar size wrist but it's a good idea to try with my own wrist and make adjustable straps. Thank you all! ❤️

I would suggest 3-5 inches just so whoever is receiving them can tie it on easily. You can try to measure your own wrist and then create something that you can wear with adjustable ties, it’ll make your job a lot easier!

I think you should make it longer than you need it to be to play it safe

I usually make mine 5-6 inches if it’s for a younger person then probably 5 inches and if it for a adult then probably 6 inches

If you are ever unsure about size, simply make the ends longer so that they have extra string to put it on if they need it

yes, definitely always do way longer than you think you need. that way you can always tie a knot or if its adjustable, you can always make it smaller. plus, if you make it big enough, they have an option of wearing it as an anklet.

I normally make my bracelets 5 inches tall and my ties 3-4 I feel that's a good size for a lot of people because if it doesn't go all the way around your wrist it will still go around the tip part

I suggest to make the bracelet adjustable so anyone with any sized wrist can wear it

I like to measure it on someone with a similar wrist size or make it extra long just in case!

A good rule of thumb for the length is 5-6 inches with long-ish ties.
