I think it would probably be most helpful to watch a YouTube video explaining the different types of knots. For backward forward knots you do half of a backward knot and then half of a forward knot, and vice versa for a forward backward knot. Good luck!! ๐

Itโs quite easy actually! Each knot you tie around the string twice so for example your forwards knot you make your 4 shape pull the end through and tight and then a second time before moving to the next string. To do a forwards- backwards or backwards- forwards knot you do the first tie in the first direction and the second in the other. So a forwards- backwards knot youโd make your 4 shape and pull your string through and tight and then rather than do that a second time you make your sail shape and pull your string through and tight.
