Chokers instead & finishing technique

I'm not really into wearing bracelets, but I love chokers. I've read that roughly one meter/1.083 yards is long enough to make a bracelet, but how long should I cut my strings for a choker?

Should the ends be braided or should one end have a loop? I'm assuming that with making something as long as a choker that it would be easier to braid the ends. How would I go about doing that in a way that would keep all the strings bundled neatly? I really like the clean look of making the loop and then knotting a triangle pattern for the alpha layouts. Is there a braided version of this?

There are several alpha patterns that I want to eventually do, but several of them have multiple background colors. One of the ones I'm looking to make is pattern number 78331. How is the background knotted to prevent gaps between the colors?

Lastly, I bought a couple embroidery floss multi packs and didn't know until I got home and opened them that they are 100% cotton. I'm not complaining about that, but there are two colors in the cotton that I really like and I have some regular polyester floss in a nice color that will go well with them. Will this do anything odd to my pattern if I blend two different fiber types? Does anyone know if cotton floss is pre-shrunk? What about how these two fibers eventually break down?

I know this is a lot. Thanks in advanced!

i would say 2-3 meters especially if you wanna make them ajustable for a normal. an alpha seems right for about a meter. do you know the flat alpha technique? cuz it helps prevents holes

and no they shouldn’t be different unless they create different sizes knots. breaking down is just reg wear and tear

Here's a video on how the flat alpha technique is done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YVFAX9sacw
