Hi! I recently started doing bracelets and have learned how to read patterns, and I am getting the hang of it. So far though I have only done bracelets with even amounts of the same color strings, so it makes it easy to start them, and I usually do with a knotted loop. My problem however is the pattern I want to try, 22543, has only one string of the two shades of green, and three black strings. How do I start a bracelet with that? I have just been doing the fold over method and boom I have even numbers of the colors, but I cannot wrap my heard around how to add basically a “half color”. Any info would be amazing as I am at a standstill with these types of bracelets. Thank you!! 😊

@TinyTacoz you don’t always have to do a loop. Instead you can cut the strings that you would fold in half and just cut them in half to create double the number of half length strings (if that makes any sense). Then measure and cut the strings you only need one of against the half length strings. You can then tie a knot like normal but instead of there being a loop, there will be strings with a knot and no loop. I hope this makes sense. I can try to explain a little better if anything is unclear.

Oh okay yeah that makes sense! My only thing is that I find they are way easier to put on my wrist and they look better in my opinion with a loop, so I was hoping there was a way I could still do that. I will try what you suggested though also as that seems like an easy way to do it! Thank you!

Cut all your string the length you would for your usual loop except the ones you need single strings of. Cut those the length of your folded string tie your single strings in with your loop and go as normal. You can trim the ends later:
