I have been looking at cool patterns and they are all alphas but they look rly hard! How do you do alphas?

They’re actually not super hard, only in my opinion it’s harder to keep the knot tension equal to prevent the sides from going in and out. You might want to watch a video on how to do them, but basically there are base strings that don’t actually show up at all in the pattern, and then strings on top that you bring back and forth along the base strings.

#25299 is a great pattern to start with (it was my first one so that’s why I recommend it lol but if you don’t do that one I think to start you should try a simple pattern with only a few colors) and you can find some great tutorials on YouTube about how to do them

This is also a question, how do you do those left and right knots, I am so confused!

@Lily22 you do forwards and backwards knots just the same as you would in a normal pattern. 😊
