(The title might be confusing but I hope this clears things up )I have been staying in the same rang of strings, like if I wanted to make a bracelet I would only do strings 10-1. I am not going out of my comfort zone is there any way I can? |

Find a pattern you really like. A few ideas #59428, #46834, #64826, |

go slow. yeah find a pattern that you like, and see if there’s a similar one that’s 12 strings and slowly get to the bigger ones

You could start with a keyring, that's not that much work even if there are more than 10 base strings.

Or maybe a test patch with plain rows and no specific pattern (maybe using snippets that have piled up?) to get used to more base strings?

When you do go to start knotting, put a show, podcast, audiobook, yt vid, or something like that on while you knot. It gives you something else to focus on and maybe you won't stress out about so much! I find I knot for much longer periods of time with something like that on, because it keeps me from getting bored super quickley 😊

Good suggestions so far, going in small increments and choosing a pattern you really love can definitely help. And also, don't stress about it! I know I have a "comfort range" number of strings I like. If I go above that, it's just not fun for me any more. No point in that! |

try a large version of a pattern you already know. #5965 for example is a great way to make a dramatically bigger bracelet without having to worry about using new knotting techniques. for me, making bigger patterns is easier for some reason. try it, and you might be suprised!
