Hi so i've just got a quick question about reading the normal patterns, and tying the knots. I just learned how to do #18, and you start tying knots from the left or right. On other normal patterns, should I start tying knots from the left or right? cause I started my first #18 by typing the knots in the middle and i had to start over...🙂

It depends! If you're starting right on the first knot without creating any special starts (like a triangle start) then starting in one of the corners is usually a good rule of thumb (I'm assuming you segment knotted this pattern). The knots in the top rows set the place for the knots further down, so missing knots can mess up the whole pattern. If you want to do a pattern but are unsure of how to read it, there are lots of helpful videos on many of the beginner-level patterns, and youtube is a great resource. If you don't like the videos, row-by-row knotting is always an option when segment knotting is confusing. |

You can start from either side!! It doesn't really matter. I tend to start on the left side, since I like to work going left to right, but that's just me. Do whatever's easiest and most comfortable for you!

@rollergirl, you can go left to right or right to left, but the best way to make bracelets, especially larger ones (makes them waaaay less intimidating), is segment knotting. it's about 5 times faster and infinitely less confusing. Masha knots has a video specifically on it, please check it out!
