You have to be on the website. Hover over your profile and select “create patterns”. You then can choose to make a normal pattern or an alpha. I would begin with an alpha because they are easier to make.

You can only create patterns on the website, if you click on your username at the top you will get a few options, click on create pattern and then choose betwen alpha and normal. For normals the interactive generator is what i find easier to understand and for alphas for me the best option is the "draw alpha" one.
