So how do I know how 🦋 long the strings on an alpha is U_U I am currently getting 💎 ready to make pattern 💛#5248💛 but I don't know how long 🌵the strings are suppose to be.😪😥 😭 ❤️ I am also new to alphas ❤️ |

you kind of eyeball it. when i first started, i made then longer cuz it’s better to have longer strings than shorter.

If you want to be precise about it, you can use an alpha you’ve already made to measure how long each of your rows is, because it’s different for everyone. I recommend measuring how long ten rows are and then dividing the number by ten, because it’ll be more accurate. Once you have your row length, multiply it by the number of rows in the pattern to get the length of the pattern. Then add extra for the ties. This number will depend on what kind of ties you’re doing, but in my opinion it should be at least 15cm per side (30cm total).
