You can join and submit a photo. You could win prizes, like shoutout in their bio or they make you a custom pattern. This is if it was run by a user

For official ones they list a bunch of random patterns. You can make as many as you want and put the word challenge somewhere in the photo. You get 1 point( number next to your profile pic) for every item. There are weekly and monthly ones. It will say in the topic if it’s official or not

Challenges are essentially virtual community events to get everyone making bracelets ‘together’ to a specific theme, pattern, or set of patterns. You can find them in the ‘Challenge’ section of ‘Forums’. There are two kinds: (1) An official challenge (identifiable by the ‘[OFFICIAL]’ label in the challenge thread title) is set and moderated by moderators, and participants get awards (that little number on the top right-hand corner of users’ display pics) for the number of projects/patterns completed; and (2) challenges organised by individual users or groups. The latter can be further split into challenges that are open to all, and challenges that only accept submissions from selected people—you’ll know which type a challenge is by reading their individual rules.
