How do you tie knots on an alpha

Hi, I’m not sure how to like add strings ect onto a base string on an alpha. I’m kinda a newbie cuz I can only do chrevlon and candy stripe. Please tell me how to start an alpha . Thank you

When I’m making the alphas I sort of just tie the string on. I use a clipboard, so I tie the end of the string to the top of the clipboard then start knotting the string onto the base strings. I don’t know if that made any sense, but if you also just look up how to make an alpha bracelet on YouTube, and there are some good videos.
