I use about 2 1/2 feet (idk what that is in metric units sorry 😬). But that’s more for smaller bracelets so if you are making one that is thicker or a particular string has more knots than the others, I would make it longer. In general, cut the strings longer than you need and you can use the extras for base strings in alphas if they’re long enough or if you only need a couple knots in an alpha. Granted, I have small wrists so I make smaller bracelets and thus use less string but idk about you.

Ankles are generally larger than wrists so cut the strings longer for those

I always just use my 2 arm lengths (I never use less than this but I almost always add string if I feel like I need to. You need a surprising amount) I have pretty small wrists as well and i still need a lengthy amount sometimes.
