The more you contribute to the community the higher your rank will get. So posting In The forums, rating patterns, creating patterns, posting pictures of patterns etc.

I just posted pictures of bracelets and messed around with creating patterns (most of which got rejected). I think if you just do stuff on the site it helps with ranking
