Normal patterns: Use up to 4 types of knots (forward, backward, forward-backward, backward-forward); no base stringsNormal tutorials: https://www.braceletbook.com/videos/ Alpha patterns: Use 2 types of knots alternating each row on your base strings (ex: first row all forward knots left to right, then on the last string, change directions using backward knot from right to left, then change direction and work left to right again with forward knot, ect.) The white stings at the top of the pattern are base strings. They can b any color. The other color is a base color or secondary color. I’d use Masha Knots for any other needs. Like tying in secondary colors
