What do stars and numbers mean on profiles?

I see people that have a star above their profile pic with a number. What does that mean?

These numbers and stars indicate the number of rewards someone has. Rewards are given when you participate in official challenges (weekly and monthly) and report duplicate patterns.

you go to the challenge section of forum, and then scroll till you see in caps or smthg OFFICIAL CHALLENGE [month and year]
