So, I have just started to make my first alpha and its going badly. I don’t really know how to switch colours because it just keeps going over the ones I have already knotted if you get what I mean. Can anyone help?

I recommend whatching youtube tutorials (I personally especially like Masha knots) and also trying a pattern with only two colors. Alphas are pretty difficult and really need practice so don't get frustrated because everyone's alphas are bad at first 😊 About your issue with the colors showing through, if you are using the flat alpha techinque make sure you really push the knots toghether.

Also color switches at the edges are more difficult so try to find a pattern that doesnt have them.

@shescrafty you need to be on the website, you click on your name and a few options show up, click on create patterns and then create alpha pattern. I recomend the "draw alpha" option, and remember to click "test and save" before you submit it

@Rsiin , I know someone already answered you but I thought I could help anyways! ~So the first tip for me would be to watch a ton of videos I would Suggest Watching Masha knots, Kinsey B, etc. ~For your first few alphas I suggest not having more then 3-4 colors in it. To help yourself not get confused ~(This is kinda related back to the second tip) Try to not have similar colors or similar leading string colors to your base string colors. Especially if its one of your first 3 bracelets. Having very similar colors could result in using the wrong string.. or worse.. knotting with a base string 😂 🤯. ~The last tip would be to be PATIENT with yourself ❤️ . Don't let other peoples creations make you feel bad about yours. You'll get there just with some practice. If you like, after my school hours I can link some videos. Also little fiy~ I think under every alpha pattern is two videos by Masha knots. One is for "How to make Knots" and the second is " How to make Alphas". If your super lucky another user may have a tutorial on that exact pattern. Hope this helps 🙂 |

I recommend watching Masha Knots on youtube because she has some really comprehensive tutorials on alphas and color switching. Here are some of my recommendations! : #85506 #83476 #5248 #48294 #60704 #38672 #24434 ( I think this one would be a really good start because it is small and only has two colors in it! ) |

@shescrafty You can make an alpha pattern on the bracelet book website by hovering your cursor over your username in the top right and then right below it will be a menu and you press the option that says "create pattern"
