Hii,

How do you know how long your strings have to be to make a bracelet?
Or does that depend on the kind of bracelet that you're making?
Thanks for answering!!

In normals the average measure is from the tip of your fingers of one hand to the other with your arms streched out, but if you see that one color is used more than others you can make that one longer. In alphas it's different, the base strings should be the length of your wrist + the ties and the strings that make the actually knots will depend but it doesnt really matter because you can always add more or cut it short.

If you are doing a loop, the strings have to be folded in half, which would then make two strings. Then the length would be from one tip of your finger to the other, arms stretched out beside you. Then fold that in half, so you now have two string measuring from the tip of your finger to the center of your chest. Remember that if a string is folded in half to make a loop then it is two strings!

If you are not making a loop, i suggest from the tip of your finger to the opposite shoulder

It all depends on the bracelet, how much you use of a certain color, and whether it is a normal or alpha pattern. My rule of thump is 2 wingspan lengths for normal patterns (a wingspan is the tip of your middle finger to the tip of your middle finger in the opposite hand) and for alphas I do about an arms length for game bracelets and keychains, but for longer one maybe give yourself a little more room and also some extra room if you do a starter like a triangle end!
