Hey y’all lol
I’ve been making normal bracelets for a while and would love to start on some alphas. Any good recs? Also, are there any good tutorials out there. I understand the basics but get confused when colors appear to switch places on the pattern. Thanks!

There are plenty of good videos on YouTube. I recommend the one by MashaKnots on the flat alpha technique.

For the first pattern I recommend one that only has a small amount of colours and isn't too wide for example #38672 #1654 #40357 #25002

A bracelet that is very useful for practicing colour switches and also for using up leftover string that is too short is the ragrug bracelet #36730. There are also plenty of videos on it on YouTube.

^ I have a tutorial on my Youtube channel, Alex’s Innovations, for the Recycled Rag Rug #36730, as well as The Beginner’s Guide to Alphas, which teaches how to switch colors! I also have a flat alpha tutorial, which goes into both general switching and special cases (such as when colors alternate or switching at the end of the row). Hope this helps! 🙂

I am struggling with switching the colours. I will make the bracelet and I would get to the end of the row, and then I would switch the colour but it would go over the knots I have already done. It doesn’t go under like it usually would

@Rsiion Could you provide a little more detail? Are you using the flat alpha technique, or the regular technique? Is the color switch on the very last knot of the row, or is it at the start of the next row?
