Alpha Pattern Problems

A lot of alpha patterns give you like enough pattern for the entire bracelet, so as soon as you are done going through the pattern once you have a finished bracelet, but if I only want to do the pattern one time, how many rows do I do before/after the pattern? I'm not that expirienced with alpha pattern so I'm not for sure of an exact amount of rows and I don't want to make it too short or long or make the pattern off center... Please help! Anything is appreciated! 😛 🙂~ @OstieKnots ~ |

Considering the pattern is a short one with one graphic on it, of course.

This would depend on the pattern and how long you like to make your bracelets. If I’m not sure how long a bracelet will turn out I try to find a pattern that I like and is a good length and check the dimensions on it at the top of the pattern. I then compare and adjust as needed.

It’s been a long time since I made a bracelet, but I think I used to do between 50 and 60 rows for my bracelets. That’s depends on your wrist and how you like the bracelets, of course. I like them with the pattern only on the top part of my wrist, I don’t like it when the pattern surrounds my entire wrist.

I’m not sure if I explain myself correctly, lol, I’m from Spain and very often I don’t know how to express myself

you will probably have to go through some trial and error. don’t be afraid to make mistakes, you’ll learn better that way!

You could always repeat the pattern to make it longer

If the pattern is shorter, I usually just do a few rows in the beginning and at the end to lengthen it of the main background color. If it's a really long pattern I'll just skip some rows if it's a solid color or alter the pattern a bit to make it around 80-90. An alpha that is around 80-90 rows long is what my average length is. It's long enough to wrap around most sized wrists without seeing the ties. I don't like bracelets that go all the way around but it's not so short on a larger wrist that you see the ties as much as the bracelet. It all depends on what you prefer but it's an easy fix.
