I’m fairly new to alphas and I noticed my knots are a bit long. I’ve tried tying them tighter but it didn’t help very much. Any suggestions?

unfortunately with alphas, that’s the way the knots form. it’s pretty much unavoidable, but make sure you’re using same size/same brand strings, and knotting tightly each row! hope i could help :]

you could try to double up your base strings (knotting on 2 base strings as 1), or use thicker base strings/a thinner leading string.it's not anything to do with you, just that knots are longer than they are wide, so if you widen the base strings it should help make the knots more square! |

You could try playing with your knotting tension. If your knots are really loose right now, tightening them up may help, and if they’re very tight right now, loosening them may help.
