Hello! I use the straight edge technique and I still can't manage to get my bracelet straight and even. Is there any tips or tricks to make my alpha bracelets straighter?

Are you also using flat alpha techniques? Alex Innovations and Marsha Knots both have great YouTube videos on it. Also, one of the biggest factors will always be even knot tension. If some are super loose and others super tight, the bracelet will get a little wonky. You can also pull the bracelet itself at the edges to help. So does using the same type and size of string for both your base strings and knotting strings. Hope this helps!

I find it helps if i have mine secured down tightly. I’ll probably attach the top to my clipboard and then tape it down about 2-3 cm (or 1 inch) down. Then add a piece of tape every 3-4 cm so that ots secure to knot on and not wriggling around. Making looser knots might help, because if there are several colour switches in an area, it will make the alpha wider if you have lots of colour switches

Make sure you’re using the same brand of thread and push up after every row, either with a ruler or some other straight edge

Hello! I have a couple of reccomendations, but I'm not familiar with this problem because luckily it hasn't happened to me!- make sure you are using the same type of thread / same thickness / same brand (if possible) - tape down your bracelet as you go so it stays in place - use the straight edges technique (MashaKnots on youtube has a really great video) - make sure you are tying your knots with the same tension as the rest of them (in other words, you don't want to tie one knot really tight then the next one really loose) - after you finish a row, push up your row with a ruler or gift card to try to make then in a straight line. This will all take time to get used to, but once you get it, it will be so much easier and your bracelets will look so much better! I hope this helps! |

work with your knot tension. if you make your knots all as tight as possible, it screws with the edges.
