Why don't you just start with a regular pattern, first of all. There are two types of patterns, regular and alpha. When you tap the pattern it should say at the top what type of pattern it is. If you can't find what type of pattern it is, I will give an example. An alpha pattern is a pattern where the arrows go to the right and left across some white lines. Don't worry about those. Other patterns do not look like that. I would suggest going to Masha Knots or Katrinaosity's YouTube channel to first see what a forward and backward knot is if you don't understand. They are both amazing! The arrow that is going down and to the right is representing a forward not. If the arrow is going down and to the left, it is a backward knot. I would suggest pattern #1 to first practice these knots before learning the other knots! Hope this helps! ❤️ 👍 😊

I learned through youtube. There are nice tutorials for learning to read normal and alpha patterns. There are also tutorials for learning how to tie different knots, starting bracelets, ending bracelets, etc. Find some very simple patterns and watch someone make a bracelet. It'll click for ya.
