I found a pattern with rows that you don’t do any knots. How would you keep those spaces in between???

There are different techniques.You can just knot the following knots and not pull them all the way up to leave the gaps. This will leave visible loose strings. You can also use the same technique you would use for triangle ends. This won't leave loose strings. |
