So I’m trying to make pattern #37811 and there’s 10 base strings, I want to do a loop but I don’t want to do 2 triangle ends. If I do the teardrop loop that Masha knots has a tutorial on I’ll just add another base string and I don’t want to modify the pattern, I hope that makes sense. Any ideas?

Here’s a tutorial for a single alpha triangle end https://youtu.be/_RRUfP1uvro

You won’t be able to use a teardrop loop in an alpha.

@garanceles you can pretty much do any start you can do with normals with alphas as well because for alphas you can always do triangle ends that are knotted like normal triangle ends using the base strings instead of knotting row by row like you would typically do in alphas.

I didn’t mean to say teardrop, basically I’m just asking how people do loops on alphas

If you want to do a loop but you don’t want to do two triangle ends after it, you can bunch the string together after the loop and just do one triangle end, or you can do a flat start. If you decide that you’re open to doing two triangle ends after the loop, there are two different strategies. You could do two normal-style triangle ends after the loop (tutorial link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dPcpD-i2D0U) or you could do two alpha-style triangle ends after the loop (tutorial link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8-Yr8IBFvNY). I hope I understood your question correctly, please tag me and let me know if I didn’t 😊
