How do you make keychains with odd strings?

There are different methods- you can split a string (embroidery floss typically consists of 6 individual strands), fold it in half, attach it to the keyring and use it as one string - in alphas you can use the end of the first leading string as the last base string. You just attach the leading string to the keyring like you would the base strings and leave one end as long as the base strings |

What I do is tie a normal larks head knot, but make one side shorter and I just ignore it the whole time then at the end I cut it at the end and glue it ( did that make sense?)
