Hi! I have a bracelet the have a good amount of white on the sides of it (I posted a picture of it today if you need to know the pattern I am talking about). The white is starting to get dirty and I want to try to clean it, but I'm worried the string I used in it (I use DMC string) will decompose after being washed. So if you have any tips or advice for how to clean bracelets please post it here!!

It should be alright. Just don’t scrub it too hard.

Here are some videos on washing your bracelethttps://youtu.be/ZAuKeD-XJBc https://youtu.be/6nVYmKKGzEk I know I have watched MashaKnots' video at some point and I don't remember her saying anything that would be against washing bracelets I've never washed my bracelets but I've worn some of them while swimming. I think it definitely affects the bracelet but I don't think just washing it once would be super noticeable. |

Keep in mind that most embroidery thread is made of cotton or polyester like most of your clothing- which you throw in the washing machine. It’s not going to dissolve or anything! Lol I’ve cleaned bracelets a few ways. If it’s a bracelet I’ve sold to someone I generally soak it in water with detergent and a touch of fabric softener and gently massage it, rinse and lay to dry. If it’s one I’m wearing I untie it and scrub it in the shower with my loofa and some soap on both sides- hard. If it’s really soiled or an old bracelet I want to keep I throw it in a delicates laundry bag and wash it with my clothes.
