Mine are coming out like poo too. I’ve heard it helps a lot to use the same brand of string for the whole thing. Also I think it’s easier to tape your strings down

my tips for alphas: try the straight edge technique, this means that on the two edge strings, do a backward forwards knot (left edge) and forwards backwards knot (right edge). make sure you are doing your string changes correctly, masha knots has a video on the topic, though i preferred kleine vos's version.

Do it on a flat surface... that helps me make them more flat. But I’m not that good yet 🤷🏻♀️. Honestly, just practice and you will eventually get there

Try practicing on smaller patterns, as well as patterns that only have 2-3 colors. I found that really helped me get better

@macky_wacky I struggled for ages and it's just practised. make sure all your strings produce the same size knots and u DO NOT use the base strings in the pattern. (that is where I went wrong) Masha knots has a really great tutorial on youtube that explains everything and teaches you how to make neat and flat alpha patterns. Hope this helped x
