Have tried this pattern. How to attach black thread and how to add red & blue is confusing. No instructions! Please help

These bracelets are not like normal patterns. The process of making alpha patterns is fairly different compared to normal ones. Try searching up 'alpha patterns' on YouTube. That's how I learned (and I'm still learning.) Once you have an idea of how alpha patterns work, try practicing using some scrap string. That's how I learned to do alpha bracelets.
