What can I do to stop my wall hanging from expanding?

I’m currently making a wall hanging and the edges were pretty straight until I started adding more colors. It hasn’t expanded too much, but I was wondering if there’s anything I can do to make the rows more straight. I’m using the straight edges technique and pushing up after every row, but the rows still aren’t even. It’s not that big of an issue, but it’s kind of bothering me, so if anyone has any tips, let me know.

@oceanknots I'm no expert so I dont really have any techniques you can use. But I noticed with wall hangings they expand the more you add color and just keep on expanding and getting wider! This is a great question! Can you tag me when someone does come up with a anwser for your question? Which wall hanging are you working on? 🎉 (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

@Yoonhee Yeah, sure! If I remember, I’ll try to tag you. I’m working on #41884 and so far I’m on row 58, but I actually modified the pattern by removing some base strings from both sides, so it is actually 61 base strings, not 80.

Thanks @oceanknots by the way I'm sure your wall hanging will turn out great! Good luck ! I've only made 4 friendship bracelets ever and their all alphas I've never tried a wall hanging hopefully I can try when I get better!! ヾ(•ω•`)o

There are probably two reasons why this happening 1. You are using different types of threads 2. You are typing your knots tight But what I do is cut some of the string from the back that is pulling on the sides |

@juliana_e I’m using the same type of thread, so I don’t think that’s the issue, but it could be that I’m tying my knots too tight. Sadly though there isn’t much I can do about that now because it would probably look weird if I changed my knot tension in the middle of the wall hanging lol. I’ve heard a lot of people say in knot with me videos that loosening the tension of your knots will help you, but I’m not really sure how loose because in their videos, they pull their knots pretty tight. Anyways, thanks for the help!!
