To do a colour switch in an alpha there are two main options:- the regular colour switch: when you want to switch to a new colour you just fold the old leading string behind the bracelet and continue knotting with the new leading string - the flat alpha colour switch: when you want to switch to a new colour you fold the old leading string up in front of the bracelet, you take the new leading string and do the first half of a knot, you do the old leading string and fold it over the base string you just knotted onto and under the new leading string, then you make the second half of the knot with the new leading string, the old leading string will be sandwiched between the first knot of a new colour. MashaKnots has videos on both that I recommend watching. There is also the two tone alpha technique that uses the base strings to make knots of the second colour.
