Why does my bracelet always curve to the left?

I don't know if this has any effect on it, but I make rag rug bracelets by Alex Innovation and my bracelet sometimes seems to curve to the left a bit when I make the bracelet. My knots seem to all be the same size.... Help plz?

i noticed that one of the rag rug bracelets i made recently is curved a little, and i figured out it was because of two reasons. it might have to do with differences in the strings you’re using. if it’s a rag rug and you use a variety of threads to make it, including ones that may be thicker/thinner then there could be some unevenness in the rows. it could also be because though your knots seem to be the same size when you’re originally making it, you make the first knot where you attach the leading string to the base strings tighter than the rest. if that’s the case, it’s definitely more noticeable in a rag rug than other alphas because you’re unable to use the flat alpha technique. hope this helped c:

Certain bracelets, especially candy stripes, will naturally curve to the side. Since the rag rug bracelets is technically an alpha pattern, maybe your strings are different thicknesses? It could also be that all of your knots are different thicknesses?

@stacey_135 hi Stacy! I already knew that the candy stripe bracelets curl because it's all one knot going in the same direction, and for with alphas, my knots are all most of the time the same size, and some of my thread is twisty and some isn't twisted at all, so maybe that's the problem!

i think people tend to knot together on rows with forward knots (in alphas) or mostly forward knots (in normals) so when we do the next side and come back it’s not quite as tight or neat.
