I use Le Peon, DMC, Amazon bulk packs, and Alize Forever Simli/melange!! They types of thread available depends on where you are located and what stores are close to you and how much of a budget that you have to spend!! As long as you keep the thickness of the strings all the same any brand or type(craft cord or embroidery floss) should work!!

my favorite embroidery floss is the brand pllieay its very soft and doesn't make my fingers sore when I'm making my bracelets. You can find it on amazon and its pretty cheap.

I personally love DMC threads because the colors are gorgeous and they’re really easy to wind onto bobbins🙂

To be honest In my country theres not a lot of options. Some of the brands that people mention here dont exist in my country. I tried DMC and was really frustrated with the quality of the thread, it splits and unravels and just not very stable. That's my experience at list. I personally use vogue threads, they are thin so I I double them (using two strings as one string) and they are very good quality and the results are beautiful because of it and I personally enjoy working with them. They are a little expensive though.

@mayrozen fun fact: DMC 6-stranded cotton (the one that they sell most often in the stores) is actually made to purposefully be easily unraveled 😁 which sounds really weird, but that's because its original intention was to be used for cross stitch - so people can unravel the string purposefully to customize it to different levels of thickness. For people who don't like the way it unravels, the size 5 and size 3 one's are woven tightly so that they won't unravel. 🙂

I personally prefer DMC but I do use Pllieay, and Loops, and Threads often as well! I just don't use craft cord at all because I find it breaks quite often. I do pull a lot of my knots pretty tight so that may cause that issue for me.

@Tikilishi thanks for the knowledge! 😄 cause I started to think that it was purposely made to drive me insane!! 😂 now in all seriousness, like I said the options in my country are not as wide as in other places and stores that sell those stuff in normal prices are super hard to find. I like the results with the vogue so I stick with it but if I'de have the chance to go to the store I'll try looking for the DMC threads you suggested 👍

My experiences with DMC are amazing because they have never snapped when I am knotting and I pull really tight (I'm trying to fix how tight they are though). However, they are really expensive because if you buy 36 skeins, that adds up to about 24 dollars, whereas if you buy loops and threads, it is only 5 dollars, so loops and threads in less expensive. I have never used craft cord before so I can't tell you if that works well or not, at least for me. I also use the brand loops and thread which is a pretty decent brand to use. Just don't pull very tight because loops and threads, I have found for me, snap a lotI hope this kind of helped, if not (haha get it? Knot?) well then, I hope you have a great day today!😀 |

Honestly I feel like this is such a personal question because everyone has very strong opinions on it 😂. I personally use prism and DMC. I have akso used random amazon thread that was good as well. When your starting out I suggest using the cheaper stuff because you will use a lot of it practicing!
