how do I figure out how many strings of each color to do

I’m confused i am looking on bracelet book and I see photos of people doing bracelets but I’m confused cause I don’t know how many colors of the strings to put

If you click on the pattern (the knotting) and zoom in on the top there’s the beginning of the strings before the actual knots. I always count my colors from there. Sorry if this is explained badly lol

For a normal pattern you just look at the beginning of the pattern and count how many strings there are of each colour.For an alpha you need one leading string per colour used. You can find the amount of colours in the top bar. The amount of base strings is the smaller number in the dimensions of the pattern. For the base strings you can take any colours you like. They are only visible in the ties of the bracelet. To get started I recommend to watch a beginner video on the pattern type you want to do. |
