This pattern has 12 base strings so you take 6 strings that are double the length and fold them in half so you have 12 base strings. At the place where they are folded in half you start making bf or fb knots around all 6 strings with your leading string. This will be your loop. When your loop has reached the desired size you can start with the triangle start. A triangle start like this is knotted row by row by using the leading string to make knots onto the base strings and each row you make more knots. You put the base strings into two groups of 6 strings each In the first row you make 2 knots: one onto all strings of the left group and one onto all the strings of the right group In the second row you make 4 knots: from both groups of 6 strings you put one each into the middle so that you now have a group of 5 on the left, 2 individual strings in the middle and a group of 5 on the right. You make knots onto one group of 5, then you make two knots onto the individual strings and one on the other group of 5. In the next row you have 6 knots. Your strings are grouped in the following way: 4-1-1-1-1-4 In the next row you have 8 knots. Your strings are grouped in the following way: 3-1-1-1-1-1-1-3 In the next row you have 10 knots. Your strings are grouped in the following way: 2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2. In the following rows you make one knot onto each individual base string like usual. |
