What does 'strings' stand for? If you have a pattern it says what the dimensions are and next to it it says 'strings'. How do they calculate that?(I am Dutch, so there is probably an easy explanation for it) |

So the number it has by Strings is the number of strings that are in the bracelet! For example, if the pattern has 16 strings you would cut 16 strings to make the bracelet! I hope this made sense!

Strings should mean the amount of strings in the bracelet. Like how @cooper10 said, if says there are 20 strings you cut 20 strings. This is different for alphas though, since one of the “strings” is actually the leading string. So if a alpha pattern has 27 strings only cut 26 base strings because 1 of those 27 strings is the leading string. So basically on alphas always subtract the total of strings by 1! If that makes sense.
