The first shaped pattern I did was #61158 and there’s a lot of tutorials for it on YouTube. I made #61158 before I learned how to read patterns, so I was really just following a video and memorizing the segments. Then, after I learned how to read patterns, I made #67635 . If you know how to cut a pattern for triangle ends, I don’t think doing shaped patterns should be too hard. Just make sure that your strings are in the exact same order you see them in the pattern before you start knotting. Then, when you have that triangle shape, start knotting the same way you normally would. Once you’ve reached the end of the pattern in the middle, you can now do a triangle end to close it. Then, you do another triangle end to open it and you repeat the process. I feel like this wasn’t really clear because it’s more of a visual thing, but there are a few shaped tutorials on YouTube.

I would say any pattern that is similar or like pattern #31059 would be very good for a beginner. When I got into them those are the sort of patterns I tried first so it wasn't too overwhelming, but generally its the same as knotting a regular bracelet besides the 'shaped' part. (Bare in mind I like the progressive process, so I always tend to start at the most simple and work my way up)

As for tips, the only thing I found really was to make sure my knots on the 'shaped' part were pretty tight because otherwise there were small gaps (naturally there may be gaps, and some people like that, so it's just down to your personal preference).

For tutorials there's a written one here on BB:

If you would like a video tutorial also/instead, then this one is super helpful (but of course there are many more out there):
