Hello! I've been making bracelets for a little but now but I'm still having trouble figuring out how long each string should be. If anyone has any tips or would like to share any methods of measuring string to fit your wrists it would be greatly appreciated! I hope you all have a wonderful day. 🙂

To measure I use my wing span so taking one end of the stings and stretching your arms out, so from one end to the other.

I usually cut mine at least a wingspan, but sometimes longer if I know that that color will run out really fast.

@gsta2427 for normal bracelets, i cut strings from one palm to another...its called a full wingspan i guess and if the strings snap, i just another one, same if i run out of string but it usually doesnt happen <3

For me it depends on the bracelet and the size of my knots I usually cut mine a bit more than a wingspan length

I make mine about 3 feet long (or 6 feet long folded in half). I use a clipboard that’s about a foot long so I just wrap it around the requisite number of times.

For measuring strings for my alpha I usually use my arm length, but that really depends on how long your bracelet will be. Normal patterns I usually do a little bit more than a wingspans length, which Forgotten3 explained, I hope this helps! 😊

for alphas, i just make the base strings around how long i want the bracelet to be. sometimes they end up being too short but 🤷♀️

Hello! For a normal pattern, I would usually cut all my strings to be about a wingspan and a half. That way, the ties can be longer, and it would make a good 5-inch bracelet. Of course, it also depends on the size of your wrist, but I do roughly measure a meter and a half. 😊

Hi, the general length should be about a wingspans length. If your doing a loop, double that.

I normally do a wingspan for 2 strings then if I need one I do from my heart to my finger and that normally is ok

For me I usually do wingspan for a big bracelet/keychain and half of a wingspan for smaller bracelets/keychains. also for normals I would do wingspan length.
