Here are some reasons why your pattern might have been declined( these are patterns that they don’t usually accept)- chevron and candystripe - simple plaid patterns with one row f and one row b knots - striped patterns consisting of fb and bf knots - existing patterns with added borders or straight edge technique - simple text patterns - scrambled or randomized patterns without a clearly repeating pattern - QR codes - Spotify codes Things we consider: - review notes - generator warnings - keywords (except variations) - duplicate or very similar colors - simple (mostly word) patterns - clearly repeating pattern (asymmetrical patterns are allowed) - size (related to the complexity of the pattern) - patterns which need tweaking - border (should be even, if present) - similar variations - patterns which should be added as variations |

You can also ask a moderator a question in the review notes if you don’t understand why it was declined

First of all, read the decline message, which you can see if you click onto the pattern number on the notification so you can see the create pattern page. This will tell you exactly what is wrong with the pattern so you know how to change it. Also, read the review guidelines, this will tell you all the factors that the mods look at when reviewing patterns. As well as this, write in the review notes what you have changed/why you haven't changed something so the mods know that you have fixed the problem or you haven't changed it because it may be a design choice. And finally, message the moderator, they will probably be happy to help with any questions you have.

@Knots_EM i’ve read all the decline messages and they all just say to make the colors different from each other and to make the colors lighter/darker. but the thing is, with the pattern i was attempting to create, the colors need to be exactly how i had them and i wrote in the notes that i couldn’t change it and i feel like they aren’t even reading them at this point because they just keep saying the same exact thing

Hey ! Maybe you can try to send a message a mod, explaining what your pattern is and why you need to set THESE colors and no others. Doing so, she/he might accept your pattern, give you specefic tips to your pattern or even telling how to exactlly change it 😉I hope I help you 🙂 |

In order for people to be able to comfortably knot a pattern the colours need to be different enough from each other so they can be easily told apart especially if the pattern is an alpha. Usually making small changes already helps a lot! You can also merge two colours that are really similar.

Hi, I would go to the 'guidelines' section of the bottom right corner of any page on the site. There is other information as well, and as @oceanknot mentioned, you can message the moderator who declined your pattern. Make sure you are specific on what pattern got declined because they review various photos, items, tutorials, videos, and more, every day. I hope this helps! 😊

Sometimes they don't accept patterns if all the colors are similar because sometimes people who look at your pattern may find it difficult to decipher the colors. But again maybe try reading the decline message again and try to rectify the problem. 🙂

the reason they decline patterns due to colors is because if the colors are too similar then it’s hard to figure out which color you’re knitting with when someone makes the pattern. colors being too dark just means you have to lighten it so you can read the pattern grid in alphas. the best black color that i use in my patterns is 333333
