I've been making alphas for a while, but they always turn out really bad. I use the straight edges technique and it doesn't really work you can almost always see the base string to the right or the left and it always just messes up the entire bracelet. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong do y'all have any ideas I'm literally suffering. Thx for anybody who helps |

try using the flat alpha technique as well! it's really helped me make my bracelets look better! there's a written tutorial on bb and masha knots has a great tutorial on her youtube channel for it

Remember you don’t have to use the straight edges technique either, have you tried a regular edge? Sometimes mastering the basics before adding in techniques is easier for people.

I think your mistake with the straight edges technique is that you’re not doing two fb/bf knots. So, you make one fb/bf knot to end the row, then you make another fb/bf knot to start the next row, then you continue your alpha like usual and repeat the process

My bracelets are so straight now because i found out that I had been doing the straight edges technique wrong, instead of doing one bf/fb knot you’re supposed to do two to make it straight 🤦♀️😂

try making your knots tighter and make sure you are doing a fb knot on the edge and then doing another fb knot right after. or for the other side you would do a bf and then another bf.

Continuing to use the flat alphas technique can really help your knots to stay closer if that is what you prefer. 🙂 I usually do that, plus the straight-edges technique. Practicing alphas for a long period of time can really help, as well as watching live streams, or videos of people doing alphas. I know that@innovate has an alpha tips and tricks video. I hope this helps! 😊Here's the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff7rwAP9jvI&t=513s |
