Snapped base string?

What do I do if my base string has snapped? Is there even a way to fix it? 😬 All help would be appreciated 🙂

Cut some new string and tape it directly behind the one that has snapped and be very careful when making a knot onto it (this is a little insecure since you could just pull it out so put some glue/nail polish when cutting it off). You could also just use the leading string as your new base string and just add another leading string which will knot on the old one.
