Hi, I was just wondering if on alpha bracelets you could use yarn for the background (leading) string even if you use normal embroidery floss for the other bits i.e. would the embroidery floss bits show up or would the yarn be too thick and make the bracelet less clear/ distinguished? I hope this makes sense (which it probably doesn’t 😂) and if anyone helps I would be very grateful🙂 |

Hi! It really depends on the thickness of the yarn. I would suggest testing it and seeing what size knots it makes to see if it's similar to embroidery cotton. Also if you use acrylic yarn it may be a bit fuzzy if you wear it a lot. Hope that helps!

What @Stella_Leo said is true but it is important that it is the same thickness because otherwise the bracelet will look wonky cuz the knots are from a different size

What they said! Also if it's a knitting yarn i'd avoid the fuzzy ones because then the differenze with the embroidery floss might not look too good at the end, and for it to be perfect try using string that has the same or similar shine (either all shiny or all matte), but this is just something extra. Other than this you should be fine!
