ok so i've been on bb for a little while and i wanted to create my first normal pattern on the site! i don't mean knotting a normal pattern i mean like using the generator and adding one on the site. i've made alphas many times before and i know all of the guidelines and stuff. i'm just having trouble coming up with a design for the pattern. i feel like i've seen every different design possible and then when i do get an idea it's already been made by someone else. does anyone have any suggestions for what pattern designs i could create for a normal pattern? if you do please reply and let me know!

You could do anything thing you want. What I usually do is put in random knots, f,b, etc. and when I do that I see if it looks distorted, if it doesn’t I’ll stick with that design. Also just a F.Y.I when your strings don’t line up at the bottom then just repeat the pattern and eventually the strings will line up.

What helps me get inspired is knotting bracelets. A lot of times I will get ideas because I'm thinking "what if I did this slightly different". And then I write the pattern down.For collecting ideas I recommend using graph paper. Drawing the pattern on graph paper is faster than putting it in the generator and first drawing it on graph paper will also make it easier to put it into the generator. Another thing you can do (I think I saw @KrazyKnotz recommend it when someone asked a similar question) is to take a simple pattern and then make slight adjustments to it. This way you can come up with some really cool designs. You can also use a clickable pattern generator. This way it's easier to make changes to a pattern. Many programs for this can be found online.
