Hmm. SO what I do I just do a loop, kinda like bracelets. Or i use those like wooden stick thingies and make it on them. Lol its quite vague but hope it helps (somehow)

@Victoriao I don’t really make keychains so I don’t know much about starting them but if you look in the photos tab I’m sure you can find a lot of cool ideas (or pictures on certain patterns too)

I do all sorts of things! I sometimes do the same technique that @innovate uses in her chevron keychain tutorial for the start. I also sometime just start with a row of knots but I usually don’t because it can get wonky real easily. Figure out what you like, there are lots of good pictures on here where you can see various starts and ends. Good luck!

@Victoriao you can make a loop and then do triangle end or two triangle ends. I have made one keychain with two triangle ends you can refer to my profile picture
