i bought some DMC sparkly thread but it frays so easily and split into a bunch of strands while i was knotting with it. i tried tying a small knot at the bottom of the strand and it still wasn't working. also the edges of the keychain went really inward and i was using the straight edge technique. anyways what i'm asking is if anyone knows of a good quality brand where i can get sparkly thread that doesn't do this. it might not exist but please reply if you know what brand it is.

I usually don't have a problem with it sometimes it just doesn't work and you need to try again and go a bit slower practice makes perfect! (or close to perfect because nothing is perfect)

You can tie a knot in the end to keep it from fraying! 🙃that helped me out

The dmc metallic thread is so bad when it comes to splitting apart so def avoid that kind

I found DMC Etoile easier to work with than the Light Effects. It is basically a mix of cotton and tiny metallic strands mixed together, and the finished product gives a nice twinkle. On the skein, the texture looks different, but it looks the same as normal floss when knotted. You can find it online and at Michael's. I did find it helpful to tie an overhand knot at the end though as it does fray a bit, but it is nicer to work with!

Hobby lobby is a good place to look for thread and the glittery kinds are hard to use so you can a bit of glue to the ends then let it dry to make sure the thread does not uncoil or split
