Hi everyone, I'm interested in making #30747, but I don't know how long I should make each string. Any suggestions?

Many people cut theirs a wing spans length which is the length from one fingertip to the other on the opposite arm, and then fold it in half for a loop. For that pattern, I recommend cutting the colored strings longer because I made a smaller version of that bracelet and the colored strings used up more string

when making a normal pattern try and make your strings at least arms length at least or longer it really just depends on how big your wrist are

So r u making a Keychain or a bracelet I like to make my bracelets adjestable so it is easy to wear you don't have to ask some one to tie it for you so fore that pattern I would say about 55 Inc or 140 cm because the thicker the bracelet the longer you have to cut the thread fore itAnd if you are making a loop I make loopes fore Keychains so you just attache it to the keyring and I doesn't add any more mo ey needed so I would cut 110 Inc or 240 cm because you fold the string in half plus the extra string fore the loop And making a bracelet with a loop do the same thing that I do fore the bracelet |

@26efreund @jeje_mko thank you both! I'm planning to make a bracelet. I try to make by bracelets adjustable so I really appreciate you advice! On that note, I noticed that many people on BB end their bracelets with two braids instead of making them adjustable. Is there a reason people prefer to end their bracelets with two braids and not making them adjustable?

Idk I make to twisted ties coz like how the y look more but I make tow twisted ties fore the face mask connecter

It really just depends cause some people make a loop start and the two braids at the end to tie the bracelet to your wrist but some people just do the adjustable braids I do both

Hello, @nxg4! @Margaron has a lovely video on string length. She has a super accurate algorithm on how to measure out the perfect string length and goes pretty in-depth on how to do that. But in general, I usually measure out a wingspan and a half, (2 meters) and that works perfectly for me! I hope you found this helpful, happy knotting! 😊- @Crafty_K |

hi everyone. this is my first time doing this, so hopefully I do ok. I'm planning to make pattern #24536, but I'm confused on how long my strings should be. are they supposed to be your wingspan(from the fingertips of one hands to the fingertips of the other hand), plus extra for ties? or is there another method? 🤔 I saw some of the other replies about this topic, but I just want to be sure. |

@TidalWave yes so people usually do a wingspan which is indeed finger on one hand to the finger on the opposite hand. When u cut them like that, you would usually do a loop instead of ties. You shouldn’t need to add anymore for ties. If u don’t wanna do a loop u can just cut the strings half a wingspan and make ties before starting 🙂
